Made an attempt at cooking macarons - the batter was perfect but we never could get the cook time quite right. They were either overdone or overdone, if anyone has any tips on the perfect time/temp combo?

Fruit and custard tart

Made my first ever tart from scratch (including the crust). The custard didn't set completely but it was still super tasty, recipe here.

Father's Day

My father's day card featuring my parent's cats - one is pretty derpy and the other hates everyone but my dad.

Amsterdam was a bit too hip for me, but we made it to the Van Gogh Museum, which was the entire point of the trip. We got there early in the morning and beat the worst of the crowds, and got to spend as much time as we wanted with Almond Blossoms, Sunflowers, Wheatfields under Clouded Sky, and some of his greatest self-portraits. There was also a secondary (massive) exhibit going on called "Easy Virtue" about ladies of the night, featuring works from Toulous-Lautrec, Picasso, Monet, and even Van Gogh, but for some reason this incredible exhibit was almost completely empty. Definitely worth adding an extra stop to our itinerary.

Paris was the best part of our trip, and the city I never wanted to leave.
